Scotty Cameron is one of the most respected names in golf.  Known for superb craftsmanship and quality, Scotty Cameron putters are used widespread by professional golfers everywhere. Tiger Woods has even used the Cameron brand putter since he started playing golf. Despite its worldwide appeal Cameron putters weren’t the product of a major golf company originally. In early designs Scotty Cameron used a table-top mill in his mother-in-law’s garage. Because of the mill’s technological limitations, Scotty was forced to become great at shaping and finishing putters . These skills helped the Cameron brand become recognized for top quality and craftsmanship. These attributes and beliefs have made the Cameron brand what it is today.

Scotty Cameron worked for the Ray Cook Golf Company designing putters until his salary was changed to commission based. This change didn’t sit well with Scotty and he soon left. With hard work, dedication and experience making clubs Scotty decided to open up his own golf company, Cameron Golf International. He and his wife Kathy set out to design the highest quality putters found anywhere for the best players in the world.  That vision didn’t take long pan out. They began selling their putters to Maxfli, Cleveland and Mizuno. Then in 1993, Bernhard Langer used a Cameron putter to win the Masters and the company’s popularity exploded. Major golf companies began taking notice quickly.

In 1994 Titleist, amoung many other companies, became interested in Cameron designed putters during the Players Championship. Highly regarded teaching professional Peter Kostis brought together Scotty and Wally Uihlein, CEO of Acushnet Company. After a series of meeting it was apparent that both parties shared the same vision for Cameron putters.  In late 1994 Cameron Golf International and Acushnet Company formed a partnership. Since then Acushnet Company has purchased all the rights to the Scotty Cameron brand name.

Superb Craftsmanship

Cameron putters are milled out of a single block of top quality 303 German Stainless Steel. This allows for superb precision and quality control. Scotty Cameron putters are also designed with a deep center of gravity and unmatched quality, providing a smooth and stable feel through the entire putting stroke. They also include an interchangeable weighting system and glare-free finish.

With this precision and superb quality comes expense. Cameron putters aren’t cheap, with most models ranging from $200.00 to $350.00. However, you get the added assurance that you are getting the best putter known to the golf world. As mentioned earlier, players like Tiger Woods have used Cameron putters throughout their entire life, even winning major golf championships with them. Since 1993 roughly 1/3 of all the major championships were won with a Scotty Cameron putter – more than any other golf manufacturer. Based on this it is easy to see why Cameron putters are so highly trusted. All serious golfers should consider investing in a Scotty Cameron putter.
